Today I am going to be talking about my experience with MadeOn Skin Care Products, specifically hard lotion. What is hard lotion you ask? Here are a few details from their website
What is hard lotion?
Hard lotion is lotion that is solid at room temperature. It is designed to specifically protect hands and feet from cracked skin and extreme dry skin.
What’s in the hard lotion bar?
The hard lotion bar has three simple ingredients: shea butter, coconut oil and beeswax. That’s it! Shea butter and coconut oil are known edible emollients. They soften and soothe dry skin and are gentle enough to rub over skin cuts and cracks. The beeswax emulsifies the other two ingredients to create a beautiful combination to smooth your skin. You’ll be surprised to learn that this is all you need to get your hands back to work.
Why is “hard” better?
Hard lotion is better because it uses beeswax to leave a gentle, protective coating on the skin. The beeswax works to seal in the ingredients for longer-lasting absorption. No water necessary.
How do you apply it?
You gently rub it in your hands to apply hard lotion. Your normal body temperature causes the lotion to soften on contact with the skin. The ingredients will start to immediately meld into your skin. It only takes a few seconds to coat the skin and only a small amount of the lotion bar is necessary.
Who is it for?
Hard lotion is for those with cracked skin, split heels, alligator legs or rough elbows who have been frustrated with the lack of effectiveness of off-the-shelf lotions. It’s also for those who are concerned about the excessive use of steroids to control their skin problems and are looking for natural relief. It’s for both men and women who appreciate applying lotion that doesn’t leave the skin feeling greasy or sticky.
I was given the opportunity to try the Au Chocolat & Bee Silk hard lotion ( as well as a Rash Cream & Lip Balm, but I will get to that later! ) First I would like to say that I had a fantastic experience communicating with this company, they were super helpful, very detailed, and I received my package in record time! I was/am rather impressed! 🙂 I started using the Au Chocolat about a week ago on my heels. I have terribly dry/rough/cracked diabetic feet/heels, and my entire family complains that they are like sandpaper, which is rather humiliating to admit…Soooo I was pretty excited to try the Au Chocolat hard lotion (understandably!)! When I opened the little tin ( which was a little hard to do, and was my only complaint—and it’s probably only because I have large fingers) I was delighted to see how dainty and adorable it was! A little bar wrapped in a crisp white paper ( I am such a sucker for that kind of thing! ) The smell was nothing short of amazing ( what do you expect with a name like Au Chocolat? ) Yum Yum! I heated the bar up with my hands and applied it to my heel ( I only treated one heel for comparison purposes. )I loved the way glided on and the smooth luscious feeling it left. Not too greasy, just perfect ( which by the way, is exactly the way I would describe the lip balm as well! Loved it! ) I used the Au Chocolat for exactly a week, and on the 7th day I examined both feet, and as I had expected my right hard lotion heel was EXTREMELY smooth! A dramatic change had occurred! While I wouldn’t call it a miracle cure, and I still have a ways to go, the difference was amazing! No more sandpaper! Hooray!
The rash cream also worked quite well! I used it on the little rash spots on the back of my 11 month old’s thighs. It soothed and healed them fairly quick. I was quite pleased, and I will more than likely use it exclusively on him, as it worked so very well.
I absolutely love that the MadeOn products are natural and have a SUPER short ingredient list! For example the Au Chocolat contains : 76 degree refined coconut oil, unbleached beeswax, natural cocoa butter! ! So awesome, and overall I was super duper please with our experience using the MadeOn products, and will continue to use all of the products we tested daily. So long sandpaper Mom!
