At first, I was drawn to Nourish Organic by their beautiful packaging that definitely stands out–my first experience was in one of my Ipsy bags, actually. I was very impressed and thought I would do a little digging into who Nourish Organic really is and what they stand for. I was given the opportunity to try two more of their amazing products, their Cream Deodorant and their Skin Solve and was super duper excited! While waiting for my package to arrive, I did a little reading on their website and found out a little more info about this fabulous company!
Here is tidbit of info from their website about who they are and where they began:
“When we founded Nourish more than a decade ago, the words “organic” and “beauty” were never found together. We were concerned by numerous studies and research that shed light on the hazardous chemicals in existing beauty products, and by the lack of regulations in the personal care industry. Believing that what you put on your body is every bit as important as what you put in it, we became “organic beauty pioneers,” determined to create the very first line of chemical-free, environmentally friendly skincare products.
We were the first beauty company to ever work with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to create a collection of products so pure they could be certified organic under the same strict standards the government uses to certify food. And in 2003, we launched Nourish—the world’s first USDA-certified organic skincare collection.
Then, in 2012, we re-introduced the Nourish brand with an even more exciting line up of fabulous USDA certified organic products that you are sure to enjoy.
Today, from our headquarters in the rolling hills of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, we create and produce healthy, concern-free, eco-friendly skin care products that really work (and that are as pure and clean as the organic fruits and vegetables you find at your local market).
In addition to being completely natural and organic, our products are also cruelty-free, gluten-free, and mostly vegan. We display all of the following badges with pride on all of our packaging, so you can be sure that no product you buy is kinder to your skin, and to the earth and the animals with which we share it.” – http://nourishorganic.com/pages/our-story/#our-story
I ONLY use Organic deodorant, so I was excited to try out their Organic Effective Deodorant Cream, which is aluminum free. I chose lavender mint, which I will be honest is VERY strong, HOWEVER, this is a quality that I look for in a deodorant and after applying my armpits feel very cool and refreshed—something that I have grown to love. Something I have heard from several people is that they have issues with still smelling when using an organic deodorant, I have experienced this in the past, but had no issues with stink what-so-ever with this particular product. It goes on very creamy, lasts all day and didn’t cause any rashes or irritation. Literally the only complaint I had was that it did melt a teeny bit during shipping ( it was during a very hot week in my area ) and when I opened it and started rolling it up, the flow was super fast in some areas and none in the other holes—which led to a bit of waste. I popped it into the fridge for a bit and never experienced this issue from that point on and wish I had done so before opening. I love that this product is Organic and feel completely safe and happy using this deodorant every single day.

Next I was given the opportunity to try their Skin Solve–Cream-to-Oil All-Over Treatment in Sweet Orange and Rose hip. I was especially excited about this, as my daughter and I suffer from extremely dry skin and lips–and my daughter has a ton of skin issues including very irritating eczema. First off let me say that I absolutely love the smell of this! It reminds me of a chocolate orange candies that my family purchases at Christmas time! Yum! Next, I would like to recommend that when you first purchase your Skin Solve, give your tube a bit of a massage mixing the insides around—thought not too rough, of course. This helps redistribute the ingredients that sometimes separate.
This product has an incredibly interesting texture…its creamy–yet oily, its a bit gritty, then not. This is literally one of the hardest products to describe that I have came across, but definitely one of my favorite. I love that it leaves your skin a bit oily, but not overly so. It truly moisturizes and leaves your skin and lips ( I loooove that you can use it on both ) and leaves your skin VERY silky smooth. I have been using it in the bends of my daughter’s legs—which is one of her major problem areas for dry skin, and we have seen very major results! This is one of THE most healing non-prescriptive products that we have used, but best of all, is ORGANIC. I love it! I honestly cannot recommend it enough and plan on purchasing a TON for stocking stuffers for my relatives this Holiday season!

“Did you know that the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) organic seal and certification is THE gold standard in organic skincare? This is the only seal that ensures that skincare products are 95-100% organic, up to the standard of food rulings. That means our USDA-certified Nourish products are as pure and clean as the organic fruit you buy in your local supermarket. The USDA does not differentiate between food or beauty products when inspecting products, so any product bearing its seal (whether food or skincare) must be made of 95-100% ingredients that were organically farmed with no pesticides or herbicides. The remaining 5% of contents are drawn from a small, select number of gentle ingredients (such as purified water) that are not organically grown, but which pose no risk to your health or the environment.
The reason it is so important to look for the USDA seal on your beauty products is because the beauty industry is not regulated by the government or FDA. That means that companies can write “organic” or “natural” on their beauty or skincare products, even if only 5% of the ingredients are really natural or organic and the rest contain potentially harmful chemicals like parabens, phthalates, petrochemicals or EDTA. Without the USDA seal on your beauty product, no government agency is ensuring its safety and purity.
Recently, some beauty companies took a step forward and began using a seal on their products called NSF. The NSF seal, while a step in the direction, only ensures that skincare products are 70% organic, while the remaining 30% can still contain synthetic ingredients like waxes. We applaud companies that have moved in this direction, but we at Nourish maintain our commitment to 95-100% organic beauty products which require the USDA inspection, certification and seal. You can always rest assured that any Nourish product you buy will be the purest, cleanest and gentlest product available in the market, as we were the 1st beauty company in the world to receive 100% USDA-organic certification from the government, and we will only produce USDA-organic products in the future.” http://nourishorganic.com/pages/our-story/#our-seals
