The Baby Box Co. Organic Burp & Wash Cloth Review
If you have a baby you are probably familiar with the little flimsy baby washcloths that just about every store sells…you know, they kind that are as thin as paper and roll up when you wash them. Yep, you know what I am talking about…and I am sure you have gotten as irritated with them at one point in the past just as much as I had…which led me to the point of just throwing those suckers away ( ok, well…really we use them for little dusting wipes for the kids to use ) after repeated frustrations, so when The Baby Box Co. sent us a 5 pack or Organic Wash Cloths I practically jumped for joy! They are 100% organic cotton fleece, and are the softest, thickest, nicest baby wash cloths I have seen, let alone used. They remind me of soft snuggly sweatshirts…only really nice ones. They were super gentle on my sons sensitive skin, and washed up perfectly! They even came out super duper clean and looked just like new once dry! Each cloth is 6″x6″ and made in the USA, and not to mention being super stylish/adorable!

We were also sent the Organic 5 pack of Burpcloths that are just as nice as the washcloths! They are also 100% organic cotton fleece, and are 16″x9″. They are super lovely, and do much better job covering a large area than all of the burp cloths I have seen in the past! Since my sweet Augie is past the burping on Mommy’s shoulder stage, I gave this stylish set to my Sister In Law, Hannah to use with her newborn daughter, Allie. We took them to her in the hospital, where my Mom gave them the first test! They were super duper soft on the skin, and Miss Allie fell straight asleep on the cloth right after burping…they are soft like a blanket, so who could blame her 😀 These burp cloths cover a wide area of your shoulder to protect your clothing and your sweet babies cheeks from whatever material you might be wearing. Mommy and Baby ( and even Grandma ) loved these burp cloths and will get a ton of use from them! They are high enough quality I wouldn’t be surprised if they are around for the next baby as well!

I highly recommend these two products, and the other products on the Baby Box page! And if you haven’t you should check out the site and look into the baby box if you are expecting or have a tiny one 🙂 here is an excerpt from their site explaining the history of the baby box :
For 75 years, Finland’s expectant mothers have been given a box by the state that serves as a starter kit for their new baby. It contains clothes, blankets, and other newborn necessities, and the box itself–which is lined with a mattress–can even be used as the child’s first bed. It is believed that these baby boxes have helped Finland achieve one of the world’s lowest infant mortality rates.
The tradition dates back to 1938. In the 1930s, Finland was a poor country and infant mortality was high, but the figures improved rapidly in the decades that followed. The contents of the box have changed a good deal over the years, reflecting changing times. During the ’30s and ’40s, it contained fabric because mothers were accustomed to making the baby’s clothes, but the fabric was replaced by ready-made clothes in the ’50s.
The box is credited with helping to decrease Finland’s infant mortality rate from 65 deaths for each 1,000 children born in 1938 to 3 deaths per 1,000 births in 2013. It has become an established part of the Finnish rite of passage towards motherhood, uniting generations of women and contributing to Finland’s ranking as one of the best countries in the world for mothers to live.
I wish I had known about this box when Augie was smaller–though all of the items in the box would still be very useful! I love this idea.
I was sent these products in exchange for my honest opinion, I was not compensated in any way.
